Show Hidden Files on Mac OS

By default there are a number of files and folders which are hidden on Mac OS. This doesnt effect the average user but for the aspiring developer/people who link to tinker this can be a hindrance. Not to worry, follow this simple steps...

  1. Open Terminal you can either go to Finder > Applications > Utilities or you can hit Cmd + Space Bar and type terminal then press return.
  2. In Terminal, paste the following: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
  3. Press return.
  4. Finally you need to relaunch Finder, simply hold alt, and right click on the Finder icon and select Relaunch.

Boom, and that is it!
